These presentations are organised by Better Communities partnering with Grow and The Breeze

How to support youth & parent and enjoy teenagers

Lets Talk about Teens – Come and learn how you can support youth and enjoy teenagers!

We are hosting two evening presentations which are open for all Hawke’s Bay parents, teens, school staff and community organisations.

Former comedian Mike King is a gifted communicator who is able to address difficult topics like youth depression, bullying, drug abuse, and suicide prevention. His key message is that there will always be hurdles and heartbreak, but that we can overcome these with perseverance, support and a positive attitude.

Mike is passionate about empowering our young people, and with lightness and humour, he encourages discussion between parents and their teens by sharing his own troubled journey. He talks about how to deal with bullies, keeping ourselves safe, making good choices, and positive coping strategies.
